The previous high was 45.6°, registered in January 1939. Thankfully a cool change has swept through and knocked over 15° off the temperature, and we're going to have temperatures in the low to mid 20s the next few days.
I simply couldn't cope with that. A few years ago I was in Amsterdam during a heatwave when it was 37/38C and was fit for nothing.

Huh, I'm usually done when 23c comes along.

sandringham in norfolk, which you'll recall has recently been at centre of the latest scandal involving the royal family (gollygate), is still covered in snow, several cm deep in places.

Wow! Lobster i don't think i'd have you do my wedding photos ( if i ever get married) you catch every detail. Unless you're as good at airbrushing as you are at making a crummy wrinkly leaf look amazing. I'd like the hair and lips of miss Jolie, the legs of Paltrow, and an Elle Mcwhatsergobs body. Oh and Victoria Beckhams wardrobe.

Spring is just round the corner. I saw some Snowdrops and crocuses today. So, so pretty. Can't wait for the Bluebells.

thank you for the kind comments. there really is beauty in everything and everybody, although some people do need to be lit sympathetically - i'm sure you're not one of those!

but if you ever do get married, i'd certainly take some free of charge piccies for you, but i would insist on gracious helpings of wedding buffet.

here's a few snowy images i took today, still a lot of snow around here in west norfolk and it's really, really cold. these pictures were taken in a field where cows normally graze and the wind was cutting, my fingers weren't working properly by the time i came in.

It's like the frosting on a cake round here tonight. I don't want winter to end.

My favourite of your pictures so far; they've all been great though.
