Cheap ADSL modem/router

Can anyone recommend a good value ADSL modem/router?

Only needs one ethernet port as it will be connected to an Apple Airport Extreme base station.

Ideally one that has easy-to-use port forwarding configuration and supports uPnP or whatever it's called.

All suggestions welcome.

OK, I have little to no past experience with ADSL routers or modems but I reckon that at least there will be a CAT5 connection between the modem and the router or PC.

If that's the case then just get a bog standard modem as your AEBS router should be able to handle UPnP/NAT-PMP and getting one with the same basic capabilities as your router will just confuse things.

in terms of routers which are rock solid and easy to configure, i'd take a look at the netgear range, i've never had a problem with mine and my mum & dad have had a theirs for about four years with no problems at all.

i can't recommend belkin though... a few years go their gear was really rock solid and good value, but in the last year everything belkin i've purchased i've had to return and get an alternative for (2 network cards and 1 router)

+1 for Netgear. The interface and feature set hasn't changed in a number of years and everything on it just works. Sky Broadband use them, which you may or may not take as some kind of endorsement.

But he doesn't need a new router! He's got an Airport Extreme which should cover him nicely for the routing part unless he needs one for an internal network DHCP server which is very rare.
