Live Mesh

Has anyone used this service yet? I've only just discovered it tonight after looking at ways to synchronise files between computers located in different places.

For anyone that isn't aware of Live Mesh, then essentially it's a very easy way to keeping files up to date by synchronising them over the internet. Once you've installed the software you can maintain all your files through the standard Windows interface which is certainly the draw for me. It's similar to Windows Live Sync which keeps files up to date between different locations as long as they're connected to the internet. Live Mesh goes one better than this though as the synchronised files are first uploaded to it's cloud storage space - what they call the mesh so even if one of the computers is off, you can still keep the files up to date.

I haven't had chance to properly test it as I'll need to set it up on my work computer tomorrow but certainly from what I've seen so far, it looks like a very impressive tool. We all know cloud computing will take on much bigger roles in the future, and integrating it within Windows is a step in the right direction.

Oh and for all you Mac fans ( ) - it works for you as well.
Good Lord!

Sounds like a nice idea, it is a Live product so I'm not expecting anything too techy. If it can provide a better way to sync than with thumb drives I'm all for it.

EDIT: I think I beta tested this some time ago actually.

From what I have seen looks like a great Idea,
I help some friends who run their own business with their I.T. this seems just the thing to synch the company files and keep a backup off site. all they need is an internet connection, will be transparent.
And the remote desktop is great if I need to do remote support.

And it's off my system after a few hours of the agent program dying on me every two seconds or so, I hate alpha quality software.

Damn cloud storage.

I am scared of any service which offers unrestricted access to my computer in exchange for one password. I mean a password can only be so secure.
