Dad got his new DVD for Christmas and we watched it on Boxing Day. Is it me or has he gone a bit too far off the mark this time? Bill's always been noted for his surrealism and his edgy musical style but this DVD just seems to be full of obscure references to music which only I out of the whole family would get.
What do you think?
Bill Bailey
Watched it last night and was not ashamed to say was disappointed. Whether it was just for the Wembley gig or not, but the big screens didn't suit his tried-and-tested gig style, the Indian band smacked of being a little bit too inclusive-for-the-sake-of-it, although duelling banjos on the sitar amused me; and he regurgitated the George Bush DnB routine from Part Troll, and the love song about moss, and another Kraftwerk routine etc... I'm glad I missed out on tickets to see it live.
I hope he reads feedback like this and goes back to his fortes for his next gig, whatever and whenever that is.

I started watching Tinsel Worm but the other half promptly turned up so I didn't see beyond the first couple of minutes. I really liked the evolution art work, but I'm also someone who enjoys the Monty Python artwork so that explains a bit about me...
Hopefully will actually watch the DVD tonight and report back. But the consensus from other mates has been that it's good, but not as good as Part Troll.
