I've been doing one of those puzzle things with cryptic clues. It's from one of the local primary schools (you pay a pound for the sheet and if you get all the answers right it goes into a draw and you win a huge prize, which is a tin of Quality Street).
All the answers are confectionery. And I have all of them except one.
Examples:
Wobbly Infants = Jelly Babies
Pirate's Treasure = Bounty
Chocolate, not snow = Flake
A spread in the highlands = Butterscotch
The one I haven't got:
Daddy's painful toe = _ _ _ _ _ _ _
It's been annoying me for two days now.
Quizzy thing
I've been doing the same constantly since I read this thread. 'Painful toe' made me think of either 'stub' or 'gout'. But that didn't help.Alexia wrote:I've been trying to think of chocolate or candy with Pa or Dad in the name.....
Damn you Marksi!

Not asking us to help with your homework, surely, Mr S? How terribly TVF!
If it's any consolation, I seem to be stumped as well; and I normally see those things instantly.
Did you see the cryptic crossword programme on BBC Four the other night?

If it follows the same rules as all the others on the sheet then yes, it is 7 letters!
There is already a Wispa answer (Say it softly).
I did see the crossword thing on BBC Four. Although I hate crosswords.
My favourite clue was: A bar of soap. (6,6)

Between 'Er Indoors and I, we've come up with Mintoes or Dipdabs.
However, we can't see much logic to either answer except a bit of an anagram in the latter.
Might be of some help to you or somebody else though.

We also keep coming back to Sherbet for some reason as well.
Not that that seems to fit the clue either. But it might trigger somebody else's thinking.
