Listening to Key 103 today and basically they had on both Man City's game and Man Utd's game, but as they clashed the 2nd half of the city game was shunted to Magic 1152, I was listening to that on FM in my car, when I got home I put Key 103 on DAB on for the United game and found to my horror they chose to stick with Hit 40 UK without any mention prior to this during the Football, I tried to listen to it online and again it was only Hit 40 UK, so I had to listen to FM on my phone, which was a bit inconivient.

Now what I ask is do they not have the rights to broadcast the games on DAB and Online, or was it simply so they could have both the Football and Hit 40 UK, do any other stations do this? Also considering that alot of United's games are usually at 4.00pm on a Sunday (for Sky Sports more than anyone) I could see this happening more often.

Although where I am in Warrington I can easily pick up Bauer's other stations which are Radio City (Liverpool) and Rock FM (Preston), aswell as the UTV stations which broadcast it too, surely losing Hit 40 UK isn't too much for one occassion, considering its on elsewhere.

They would have the rights to broadcast them in the local area only, they would have been allowed to broadcast them on DAB but obviously choose not to, presumably so they could take Hit40UK, they would not be allowed to broadcast them online though.

Sometimes BRMB broadcast 3 different games (If Villa, Blues and Albion are all playing at the same time) with one game on FM, one on DAB and one on their sister station Gold on AM and DAB. BRMB always put a game on 1152AM Gold** only when the football clashes with Hit40UK. I know in the past Clyde1 in Glasgow have moved Hit40UK to a later slot, when they had some event (may have been football) on at the same time.

** Soon to be Magic 1152, it's self, if Bauer purchase BRMB, possibly.

A similar thing happens on BBC (Radio) Nottingham, where Forest are on 1584AM and 103.8FM, while Notts County are on DAB and 95.5FM. Reports on Mansfield Town are also on the Notts frequencies. "Listen Live" on BBC iPlayer does not play the matches, instead opting for repeats.
