Russell Brand and Andrew Sachs's granddaughter
And another thing. How many of the people currently defending Ross and Brand actually listened to the radio show live at the time of broadcast? Those who didn't hear the show live, how have you decided it was funny, as opposed to offensive? After all, if you didn't listen to the actual broadcast, it seems you're not allowed to have an opinion on the matter!
I did, and I did. It developed quite organically and whimsically, but most complainers probably went off the transcript and hearsay. Obviously, if you write down what's said when two people are fucking around it'll always read a lot different to how it was. That's absolutely what happened here.Chie wrote:And another thing. OH.MY.GOD. Thankgod i'm not the only one.
When Llamarr left i thought it was just for a short break. I didn't realise Amstell would be a permanent replacement.
I did love Noel Fielding as Bills stand in /guest team captain.

Yay us girles! I dunno, I liked Mark because his brash cynicism, great knowledge of music and comic greatness matched me so well... maybe not the music part but the rest and who doesn't like him shouting SHUT UP at someone? Marvellous and oh yeah, I also liked Noel as team captain too but then I've been saying it started going downhill when Sean left.Lorns wrote:OH.MY.GOD. :roll:The BBC may even find itself the target of complaints from another quarter. On the digitalspy web forums, one poster, Wellser, is encouraging people to write to the corporation to register their anger at the loss of Ross (temporarily) and Brand.
"I think what happened was out of order, but the reaction has been so over the top. I really feel punished by this. We need to equal those middle England, Mail-reading old farts," writes Wellser.

Developments today...
1. Another BBC Radio Two executive has resigned today
Senior BBC Radio 2 executive David Barber has resigned in the wake of the Russell Brand lewd phone calls row. The station's head of specialist music and compliance would have been involved in checking the content of programmes prior to transmission.
2. Allinson and Lester are scheduled for a second week to fill in.
3. The BBC will air their apology tomorrow at 1003 and 2103 on Radio Two.
"On 18 October, the BBC broadcast an exchange between Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross on the Russell Brand show on Radio 2. This concerned the actor Andrew Sachs and his granddaughter, Georgina Baillie. Some of this exchange was left on the voicemail of Mr Sachs. The conversation was grossly offensive and an unacceptable intrusion into the private lives of both Mr Sachs and Ms Baillie. It was a serious breach of editorial standards, and should never have been recorded or broadcast. The BBC would like to apologise unreservedly to Mr Sachs, Ms Baillie and to our audiences as licence fee payers."
