Ugh - I think you might be right. It pisses me right off when searching for something TV related on YouTube and you end up wading through a whole load of laughably poor mocks from the aesthetically bewildered, accompanied by the obligatory "OMG LOL LEGEND!!!!!!!!" comments.
Worst are those which try to pass themselves off as 'exclusive unseen idents' - as if ITV would have commissioned someone to design them an ident using the Papyrus font and lots of Windows Movie Maker transitions and effects.

Ah yes... But very handy for those whose imagination can't stretch to envisaging the exciting prospect of what a Central ident would have looked like with an HTV jingle.
I quite like them. I've started making some myself.Nini wrote:Or those who replaced the soundtrack for one ident with another, that's the bottom rung.
Those really wind me up.Spencer For Hire wrote:Worst are those which try to pass themselves off as 'exclusive unseen idents' - as if ITV would have commissioned someone to design them an ident using the Papyrus font and lots of Windows Movie Maker transitions and effects.

Anyway, I agree, the Mocks forum has died, or at least hibernated.

What glee... Oh, I know what you can do now in your pantheon of "what if" half-assery, how about you get a bunch of idents and have a 8 minute long sequence of the idents as usual and then... and this is the special part, slow them down or reverse them or some such crap you can do in Movie Maker without having to dig too deep.
All the dinkwads are doing it and believe you me, if the guys who replace soundtracks to any idents with that of other idents (and other studio IDs too as it stretches to film production studio logos and more 70s logos than you can fathom for whatever reason) are bottom rung then those who slow them down are the piece of shit one leg of the ladder sits on.

I'd rather not do that, to be honest. Reversing idents is stupid and pointless. Ditto "slow-mo" idents.Nini wrote:What glee... Yup. The "ident remixes" are actually good, in my opinion (Yes, I'm aware I've already said that). It's just that an ident remix is more likely to be on TV than a reversed ident, and it looks and sounds a hell of a lot better. In fact, some of those remixes are better than the real thing (Admittedly not many thoughNini wrote:Yet switching the audio of two idents is somehow reasonable...Malpass93 wrote:I'd rather not do that, to be honest.
