Hi all...

Just a quickie - I'd like to display a single line of javascript / other code on a website I'm designing that shows current weather and temperature, like how Mail Online http://www.dailymail.co.uk and Guardian.co.uk http://www.guardian.co.uk. I'm aware of all the AccuWeather, NetWeather and WeatherUnderground stickers / consoles you can get, but they're all way too big - I need one that'll fit into an area 20 pixels high.

Any suggestions welcome - including hacking the above websites to death!! - cheers! Oh and yes, I've googled this one repeatedly.

When I saw the thread title, I thought it would be code as in Tumbleweed. You know, W1 for cloudy, W2 for sunny, W3 for snow, etc., etc., etc.

Can you not take some sort of RSS feed from somewhere then adapt a script like this to include it in the page?

Does the server have PHP support? It would be easier to use PHP for what you want to do.

Appreciate all responses.... after three days of trying various RSS feeds, I went back to AccuWeather.com, took their Flash weather-sticker for MySpace, edited the background and managed to integrate it onto the site. So all is well now!

I'll say it again cos you obviously missed it ... I tried integrating RSS into HTML using a whole pile of RSS-HTML converters - but most RSS feeds I found had either too much information, or advertising, or just plain didn't work... so instead I took AccuWeather's free weather content service, edited the format and it worked lovely. Thanks to all for their suggestions - although I'm concerned that Dr Lobster said he'd done something that worked then didn't respond to my PM - and I can now concentrate on finishing the site.

I was under the impression that Lobster's solution was a subtle joke at the expense of our Great British weather. A line which outputs a precise forecast for wherever you are in the UK, it'll always say 17C unsettled sunshine and showers.
