After finding a video on youtube, and wanting to share it, I thought we should have a place where we can share the amusing/depressing footage of our friend, the Chav.

I do love peoples' attitudes to chavs - terrified when they're nearby on the street but smug and condescending when they're not.

On a bit of tangent, it's this sort of attitude that's made me realise Have I got News for You is just a couple of public schoolboys mocking people different to/poorer than them through lazy stereotypes week in week out. I was gutted when I realised it was so uninspired. And scripted. They actually plan to say such crap each week.

Not that the kid in this video isn't a fucking moron, of course.

Terrified of Chavs? You havin' a larf? I treat them with the same amount of contempt they show me, on the street or off it. If they are respectfull i will show them the same amount of courtesy. Same goes for everyone really not just chavs.

Oh and buzzcocks is scripted too, well with Amstell it is, word round the campfire was when Lamarr hosted some of it was scripted while part was adlibbed. I like lamarr whats he upto these days?

There was a recent episode where Phill decided to start acting like the host of a chatshow (I think it was the one with Trisha on maybe) - it was so scripted it was untrue.

Oh yeah and chavs are rubbish.

Editing plays its part here - having been to a recording, they do sometimes rewind/FF to the point the panellist asks for, but wouldn't it be bloody boring to watch if they always kept that in?

I don't particularly care - to me, it doesn't take anything away, and I still find it very funny.

I prefer Amstell's style too. Sorry nini: on this subjective matter you're wrong! :)

Maybe I'm just partial to Lamarr's style of not always being nice to guests and being very funny because he didn't host it and just did his own thing because that's just who Mark is and has been for some time. Still have odd faint memories of him being cajoled into punching a clown on a OB during Big Breakfast but him refusing...

Amstell's great but it's a different beast to what it was before him and I'm subjectively wrong in feeling that what Buzzcocks is now is only so much like it used to be in it's headier days.
