If he had claimed he was simply "the butler" and had a cold and sterile relationship with his boss, then one wouldn't be so shocked to see him pen books about what he had seen and heard.

Instead he claimed he was her greatest and most true friend, her "rock" - and then he told her secrets, removed her personal possessions while she lay in a coffin, lied at the inquiry into her death and travels the world hawking overpriced trinkets with her picture on them.
