Forgotten movie

i was trying to describe to a friend over the weekend a film i once saw which had a scene with some sort of surreal desert island flashback, i remember the colours were vivid and the sky was a deep blue, but i can't for the life of me remember the actual film this scene was in. does this ring a bell with anybody?

There was a film called "The Cell" which, if I recall correctly, began with a scene of a desert as you described..?

thanks for that lee, it wasn't the cell, i had a good long think, and the film i was infact thinking of was, 'contact'.

What an awful movie Contact was. I had to sit through it for A Level Media, probably the worst movie I've ever seen.

The book was a million times better....
Same as flood - fantastic book that goes into some technical detial - crap film about a hero who gets the girl.

Not sure if I should admit this - but I really liked the Jurassic Park books - read them after the 2nd film - the story is very different. Again a lot more technical detail.
