News website publishing systems

just wondered if anybody knew the web publishing systems used by big news sites, like Sky News, BBC News, Times Online, Guardian Unlimited etc?

it's weird, but i've always found that the sky news content management system to be slower and more clunky than the others i've mentioned - there are some open source content management systems which are easily identifiable by their url structure, but those above have eluded my identification.

just curious, and just wondering how they integrate with their internal news room system. anybody know?

BBC News uses a custom built and archaic publishing system, the Guardian is also custom designed also I think, but TimesOnline and Sky News use WEBSIDESTORY

BBC News uses a thing called 'Content Production System' funnily enough, CPS for short. Whilst it may be old, it's been custom developed from the start and built / lovingly cared for by those nice people in Future Media & Technology.
