I'm a little miffed I don't have a local Morrisons. I feel left out. All I have is memories of Morrisons at Five Lane Ends in Idle back in the late eighties. Maybe I should move back to Bradford just so I can experience having a local Morrisons again.

If you're that desperate, tram it to Stretford and then bus or walk it to Chorlton - there's an ex-Safeway one there. ;)

Our cafe has a new peach and red colour scheme too. Loads of little new bits to spot on each visit.

I need to get out more.
Nope, we're halfway through ours, we have the new exterior signs, a brighter yellow Petrol Station, but still the old signage and frontage inside the store, it's due to be refitted soon though.

Just had our refit a while back though it didn't seem much more than a bit of a repaint for the ancient 60's decor and a slightly confusing rearrangement. Still got that very old signage out back though.

Nothing new on the inside of my store yet, but the exterior has had a typical half-arsed rebrand.

One side of the exterior has got the new green and yellow 'M', but the other side still has the black and yellow 'M'. This happened a couple of months ago so I assume they now regard it as "job done".

There are also new signs at the entrance and exit to the car park, which are very reminiscent of the final Safeway branding - they're green and yellow with "Welcome!" and "See You Soon!" in a handwriting font similar to Safeway's "Chatter" font.

But they've not updated the numerous other car park and exterior signs in that white block caps font (Dax Extra Bold??) on the navy background.

So spectacular inconsistency all round, but it makes for a more interesting shopping experience!

I notice the roll-out of the new logo on own brand packaging is going quite well, but I predict there will be a handful of "stubborn" items that will still have the old logo in 5 years from now. (Probably tinned fruit and veg - for some reason these have always proved a great sticking point in the past for Sainsbury's and Tesco where new logos are concerned).

I can't wait to see that! Good old Morrisons, bless 'em, using a racy modern word like "Techno" - and how daring to put "@" instead of "at", about 8 years after it was done to death by everyone else.

I can imagine it's been done in a "Terminator 2" style font, with heavy use of silver and black?

Sainsbury's seem to be getting rid of the last few remaining old logos on packaging. Things like sugar and flour had the old one until recently, but they've just been redesigned. For some reason the cardboard boxes that stuff gets delivered in still has the old logo on quite a bit, but I guess there's no reason to change those as no one sees them.

Not quite got the font, but the area is very shiny, all chrome and black. It actually looks pretty good - they've even started stocking iPods, which I never thought I'd ever see them do.

lol I work in Peacocks and still have the logo before the last one on some of the stuff in our shop and ours was the first store to get the current look logo. Loads of paper work etc still has the old peacocks bubble type logo and like I said the credit notes have the logo that was around in the mid 90's.

I see today that Ethel Austin could be next to go down the pan or even JJB?

Seriously, I have little to no idea what brand Peacocks are employing right now. Figured it was still the bubbles seeing as the three branches I know still have the older brand out front but seems it has moved on, shame as I liked it. JJB can go down the pan, their branding has always been abysmal.
