I think noggin is a real asset to TV Forum. I've learned tons from him over the years.
However, it is fair to say that sometimes his quickness to correct facts *could* be interpreted by some in a way other than how it was intended. Its not a big issue, and I think noggin himself answered the point adequately over there.
I think we can move on from this one, chaps.

There are a lot of people like that in the BBC - though many are far worse than noggin when it comes to arrogance. For quite a few people, it seems as soon as they are receive a security pass with the BBC logo and their face on it, they develop and instant superiority complex. It's quite annoying - but entirely understandable. Many people who aspire to work in broadcasting, aspire to work for the BBC due to its perceived 'prestige', history and generally excellent salary with perks.the eye wrote:Do things like that upset you so easily?Mr Q wrote:I'm only relieved that noggin didn't take serious offence from it, and that he's chosen to continue contributing to TVF.![]()
For the last time, I only called him arrogant for some of his latest posts that bugged me...
There is one big post I won't bother quoting but basically he came across as a tad rude. I've always found noggins posts to be highly informative and interesting, I have nothing against him personally but I was just irritated by those certain posts.A lot of people wouldn't notice if stuff was shot on miniDV and S-VHS - that isn't a reason not to strive to deliver the highest quality you can.
A lot of people can't hear the difference between stereo or mono - should we make everything with mono sound?
Can I, for yet another time, remind people that Sky News, News 24 and World DON'T COME FROM STUDIOS...
Arrogant probably wasn't the best word but why are you wasting your time getting your knickers in a twist? Don't bother answering because my care factor is zero.
Many people spend most of their fomative career years desperately trying to get into the BBC - many succeed but many fail.

So Ebeneezer Scrooge is really Rob Del Monte?
Well, at least the former doesn't punctuate the place to death like the latter.
Still needs to be banned though.

I'm sorry to all the Noggin fans, BUT, why has he not been banned for being grossly off-topic in the BBC News Rebrand thread? What has his personal work experience and knowledge of video cameras got to do with the rebrand? I also find some of his jargon "unintelligible", so perhaps he ought to be banned for that as well.
He does go on a bit though

It's grossly more on topic than yet more completely unfounded crap speculation about the rebrand when sod all is known outside the walls of TVC. And he was talking about how bad the cameras were in N8. Which is pretty on topic.
I think you should be banned for having a rubbish sig.

tsk - you and your big mouth sput. i was trying to let that one go under the radar as it made me smile every time i saw it, now unless mr scrooge can actually demonstrate he is infact the man from del monte and therefore that is his face, i'll have to make it vanish.Ebeneezer Scrooge wrote:Exceedingly well thanks.Sput wrote:Incidentally, how's the tinned fruit industry doing, Mr. Scrooge? Isn't giving the wrong catchphrase enough for identification these days?
