Close IE and search in Docs and Settings on C drive for favicon. If you use Windows' own search set it for hidden files. Delete the old Metropol icon and then restart IE.

If you want a better search program, might I suggest Agent Ransack. For example in this instance it will show all the icons rather than just the standard IE icon that Windows search shows, allowing you to choose which favicon to delete.

Namely: I would guess those of you with logon 'permenance' issues are still accessing the site from metropol.hymagumba.com, even though the dns has been changed for the domain, metropol247.co.uk, and the site domain as well. So, actually go to metropol247.co.uk as opposed to the .hymagumba.com subdomain and you should stay logged in. I experienced this for ages afterwards before I figured it out and it was very annoying.
Nice try, Chris, but I've been on metropol247.co.uk virtually the whole time.

Since when have the two been mutually exclusive?

Mind you, with that mask... I have a mental image of a chainsaw just off camera.
Not with the price of fuel the way it is. I use a Breville electric carving knife instead.

-completely unrelated to last x pages-
Forgot to actually get round to mentioning how FAB all this new nonsense is - even if it is covering old ground somewhat. I am, actually, in love. With a forum skin. This should be concerning.

Join the club. I can't get enough of it. It's nice to know there's some extremely talented people working behind the scenes making it all work.

The missing "Remember Me" tickbox problem seems to depend on how you come to the site.

I always use the autocomplete address in my browser to get here, which tends to point me toward http://www.metrpol247.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=1. If I go to that address on a machine where I don't leave myself logged in, there is a stripped down version of the log in page with just username and password fields - no remember me option and no links on the right hand side.

So it does appear to people coming in on that address that there is no option for being remembered and you have to log in every visit.

Although, interestingly, entering an incorrect password into the stripped-down logon page produces an error pages that does have the Remember Me feature available.
