It's a stunning phone, I adore it. It's so easy to use after I had to suffer a year and a half of the Samsung E900, a ghastly touch screen mess which just made every single operation needlessly complex.

Send your typed message to Paul? Click options, send, find Paul in the list, TICK him, then click options, send, send. Infuriating.
The problems are the same sending messages with the D900i, although it's minor price to pay (literally, from an Orange Shop) for the good images from a 3MP camera:

It depends what you want from your phone barcode, I don't need internet access etc, just a phone that takes pics, video, does SMS etc. It's also a very slim phone for what it has to offer.

I shall be honest I have been told all I need is a phone to Phone people.

I have a contract so the phone wont cost me a penny!

Admittedly it's not the easiest phone to use as a phone (it feels like i'm holding a thin iron bar to my head) but for £70 on O2 PAYG with a £7.50 Web bolt on, it's supreme.
Is it just me or does it get marked so easily though, the metallic sheen on the back has gone from dull (as it should be) to scratched shiny in some parts. And the screen is a haven for my finger prints. I swear somebody could steal my entire identity just by sticking some sellotape down to take the prints off.
Yes indeed, and the curse of dust getting in behind the metal back also strikes.

I just use my glasses cloth and a dose of hot breath.

Whilst the idea of a free upgrade to an "all singing and dancing" model may seem an attractive proposition, that isn't what you need if all you want to do is call/text people.

Your provider is trying to tie you into another 12/18mnth contract at a cost which may be unnecessary in view of your needs. If you check out PAYG offers you may find them more attractive. I don't know how many texts or voicecalls you make.
