I changed the title of the thread to reflect most of the entries after my query was answered.

I'm about to be ridiculed no doubt for asking this question (but if you don't ask you don't gain knowledge), what does the phrase comb your hair in a 'special way' actually mean?

It's even mentioned at the bottom of the new home page.

Well, the phrase dates back years and years. In its entirety it's "putting on daddy's best suit and combing your hair in that special way", referring to Stephen Cole's fabulous mane. It was used to mock people whose lives revolved around BBC News so intensely that they would do things like paint their bedrooms cream and scarlet like a certain news set back in 2001.

I'd love this thread to turn into a FAQ for all those weird TV Forum things you've never understood. For instance, I started reading about three or four months after the Brass incident but still to this day have little or no idea about the posts that were made, the lies he wrote, the things he promised and who exactly found him out. And how. And I want to know.

Plus where the hell Dr Sigmund Mohammed/Lobster has dissapeared to.

Ta. I think I have a good idea of what happened after the hounding out of TVF/Metropol and I vaguely remember some apology letter/post along the line somewhere, I expect though that there's no record of the specifics about what he posted here (and over there) at the time. One thing though... http://www.jaronbrass.com/... is this still him or just somebody of horribly coincidental looks and interests?

I've just read up on "Jarongate" thanks to the link provided. What a strange character he is. I notice his "apology page" now shows the following image, so it appears he wasn't *that* sincere:

Those digits don't seem as chubby as previously mentioned in the blog! Maybe they are not even his.

Perhaps I should change the title of this thread to "Metropol/TVF Mysteries".
