Left or Right
I'd rather this shoddy design be sorted out before we debate where user avatars and info should be. Incidentally, I voted left because that's the natural order of things. You see the username first and then read their post.
But please, SORT THE DESIGN OUT!
I wouldn't mind if an old look from the past was brought in just for now. The blue/red and clouds one was a nice look.

James the reason for the shoddy design is rather simple, the completely new skinning engine stops me from just uploading an old skin folder, and even the olympics skin is now broken as it was designed for a beta version of the software and they changed something before the final release.Jamez wrote:I'd rather this shoddy design be sorted out before we debate where user avatars and info should be. There IS a new design coming, that's why I'm busy coding the templates for it and while i'm doing it i thought i'd ask about quite an important design feature of the skin. Believe it or not there's a password protected clone of metropol sitting in a directory just under this one which has bits and piece of the skin working, and other bits just aren't. It is coming though, and soon. Now stop whinging.

That may be fab for a Firefox support forum, where all that matters is how to fix a broken toolbar, but for Metropol? A forum based around personalities?Mr Q wrote:I like the author details to the right - it puts the emphasis on the content.

I agree with Hyma , but maybe a different coloured background for content might keep Mr Q Happy?Hymagumba wrote:That may be fab for a Firefox support forum, where all that matters is how to fix a broken toolbar, but for Metropol? You wanted reasons, not just votes.
On the left, so you can firstly check whether the poster is on your mental "ignore" list, then decide whether to read further.

Ambidexterous. Put the postbit in the middle.
