Alright, I've been around since the very beginning of Metropol's days as The Lounge, but I still have no idea why it's called Metropol 24/7. I understand the second bit, even though it's blatant false advertising at the moment. Anyone know where the name came from?

Also, Hyma: Is there an Easily dumping date set yet?

I have on idea why we're called metropol. It would appear to have been a martin based brainwave. As for dumping easily the original plan was for june but if this keeps up it might become sooner. I'll have to have words with gav.
I certainly wanted a longer test with the potential new host but if easily is crashing this much it'll have to come forward. tsk

Yes this is all highly unsatisfactory. I received some email correspondence from them along the lines of, "It seems to be working now, because I can log in" after the downtime the other day. You might want to change the email details and handle it directly, Pete. In their defense its been pretty reliable up 'til now.

Don't know why we're called metropol either. We just are, I suppose.

I'm going to go out on a limb and blame the term "metrosexual" for having something to do with it given Gavin's penchant for the frou-frou face cream though I'm uncertain if it's directly applicable to the gays...
Everything I say is sarcastic to some extent. Everything.

Metrosexual is something "straight" lads call themselves so they don't feel guilty about kissing me in nightclubs.

Dirty birdies.

I am an awesome kisser, though.

I do wonder if it was Martin's intention that this place be a bustling Metropolis.

Poor deluded soul...

I've changed the email to me, was going to ask you about it. Will see what they have to say this time as the main site is still jammed. although you're right they had been good up to now.

Hyma: on the new permanent metropol can you turn off the thing that congratulates me on having logged in? I'd be much happier having it take me STRAIGHT to the forum when I've filled in the form. I don't want to miss anything going on in this vibrant and dynamic place.

This forum is full of the gay mafia the wise Robert Mugabe once warned us about.

I don't think I can turn it off but I think I can reduce the wait on it to 0 seconds which will help a bit.

It's very quiet over here. I wonder if we'll get any more visitors this evening.
