Ah yes, the original website I used was rubbish in terms of the information on the thickness of a coin. Therefore everything I wrote was nonsense. Ah well.

But, you're a Sky News employee, aren't you?

I'm sure Gustave Eiffel is rolling in his grave right now over the idea that somebody would attempt to replicate the fantasy of his tower by piling 140,000 €1 coins on top of one another.

I wish I'd kept my mouth shut now....

It also depends if you count a Billion in American terms (1 thousand million) or UK terms (1 million million)

A credit card arrived for me this morning from MBNA with a £2000 limit. It got me thinking. I could easily spend that in less than half an hour.

HD Plasma telly: £800
PS3 + a few games: £400
Clothes: £400
Gym Membership at the local 4-star hotel and spa: £400 annually

£2000 gone just like that. Woo!

But it would only reach a fifth of the way up the Eiffel tower if you took all the cash out as pound coins. :(

Solution: Take it out in pennies.

How many thrupennybits would it take?

They are my favourite coin. I had one gold plated and a link added to it so it could be worn as a pendant on a necklace or charm bracet.
That makes me sound like a right nerd doesn't it.

Problem: pennies aren't legal tender above a certain amount.

Really? I didn't know that.

What amount would that be? Oh, 20p.
