Simple question:
once you take all the Gas and oil away form the underground holding areas, what happens to the soild, etc above it? would it collapse, causing land to fall in?
or would the sea just fill in the gaps?

Oil as a liquid substance bears very little support to structures around it, gas even less, so that when it is extracted it just leaves a hollow gap in the rock, which is supported by other rock around it.

Take gas and oil away and you get cold. I am still without heating. I have the boiler and several plumbers have promised me they'll come out and give an estimate to install it. Not one fooker has called me yet. I must be getting old as my joints are really beginning to ache with all this cold wet weather ( think i have the beginning of arthritis). I've resorted to tucking up in bed with a hotwater bottle, tv, laptop and a bottle of something alcoholic.
