Maybe we can get him banned from facebook too, when he comes out with some racist nonsense.

How did he know there was a facebook group so quickly?

Is this site readable from guest users? If so, it's clear he's egosearching to see if he's been mentioned.
Ronnie is victorious, vivacious in victory like a venomous dog. Vile Republicans cease living while the religious retort with rueful rhetoric. These rank thugs resort to violence and swear revenge.

But Ronnie can punch through steel so they lose anyway.

He's evidently a member here under a pseudonym. Although the rules prevent me from articulating my suspicions...

Please do, I'm sure the rules can be bent a little to avert disaster of this calibre.

He'll have got a notification from facebook announcing some of his friends have joined the TVF group. Nothing clandestine.

He certainly isn't reading it here. He isn't subtle enough to be a hidden member.

What have I done to cause Luxton to add me as a friend? Unless of course it's an elaborate and hi-larious ruse?

since he's requested that you be his friend means that you will be able to browse his pics. if you were to perhaps ... accidentally post one of them over here, it might solve the mystery as to what si looks like nowadays. the kappa one must be around 6+ years old?

Way ahead of you! Unfortunately that's the only pic on there and there's only 3 friends too, which makes me think it's a fake.

I don't think Simon would use that old picture, to be honest.

I have also received the invitation from someone who may or may not be Luxton, but I've not responded to it yet.

The "friend request" thing is a bit of a misnomer, really. Some add others into their network on particularly tenuous grounds. I've been glad to move on from some old colleagues, classmates and passing acquaintances, but one feels it would be rude not to take up a "friendship request", because of what may be inferred by rejecting one.

Sadly there is no, "Yes I know you, we quite often come into contact and you're perfectly pleasant, but I already have a large circle of very dear people around me so, you see, I just wouldn't be doing justice to the term "friend" if I accepted. I mean, I'd probably never get round to calling and I'd have no idea when your birthday is, save for a facebook application prompting me. It's not that I'm worried we'd have nothing to talk about, it's more a concern of where to begin. Thanks all the same, but I think for both of us it might end up being a hassle couple with a burden" option.

Therefore one has no real choice but to click "accept" and forget it.

On that basis I suspect the hypothesis of "six degrees of separation" will shortly be proven by facebook; but I'm not sure we'll be any richer for the experience.
