I would like to make it known that I do NOT agree with the splitting of threads into graphics and presenters. Whilst I also find endless speculation and rotas boring, I do still have a general interest in who is presenting. If something interesting does happen with presenters, it gets lost amongst the inane ramblings of the trolls who have a somewhat obsessive interest.
An ideal solution would be to continue as it was previously, but having it made clear that the posts along the lines of "Tim Willcox presented News 24 today, maybe they're trying him out for Newsbeat" are not to be tolerated.

I'd want the tedious posting banned too but I doubt asa would do it. I can't see any other way round the problem than splitting it and hoping the morons all piss off to the new threads and leave normal members in peace to discuss major presenter issues

I have no real preference. Although further ghettoised discussion is an annoyance, it stifles the natural flow of conversation.
A cursory glance through the archives will find itsrobert talking all manner of rota's and presenter shifts, so it was the double standard at issue there. I expect it's too much to ask for consistent moderation.

Should be totally, completely banned and all the idiots who discuss it should be banned. They are dull, and ruin it for everyone else. They are in a minority.
Looking at the issue realistically, that will never happen under the current moderation. So I guess the problem will have to be dealt with as is currently done.

I think this idea should be taken further and a thread created for each news presenter.
ie. Trevor Watch - a thread to log Trevor McDonald's appearances on the News at Ten.
That way, you wouldn't get talk of Mark Austin confused.
