They are really getting on my tits now.

I had real aggro with them not so long ago. I eventually got reconnected.
I have since paid the bill, when the reminder came in. The cheque bounced, i called them forwarded on another cheque. In the time its taken between the cheque bouncing me calling and sending on another cheque the assholes have cut me off.

BT have got to be the most incompetant company ever. Come next year i will wash my hands of them.

Anyone else have probs with them and can anyone else recommend a good company where i don't have to pay BT line rental.

This year i've decided to put together little goodie bags for everyone, except my mum.

For the girls i've bought several cosmeticey gift boxes, minature perfumes, make up ( boots are good for this as they give out freebies if you spend enough). Chocs from Thorntons ( if i don't munch them first), a mini bottle of champers. With a champers flute. You can buy a pack of six for under a fiver. Split them then individually wrap them.
I will open everything till i have a nice little pile of goodies.

I will then add a flute, champers, a couple of girlie bits and a gift token. And make little goodie bags out of it all. Wrapped with tissue paper and a sprinkling of glitter and sheeny shiny stars.

Some of my girlies like m&S, some would love a waterstones, boots etc tokens.. Adds that little personal touch.

The boys the same but boy stuff. Minature aftershave and gadgety stuff, with a pint or whisky glass and bottle of beer or bottle of spirit and gift voucher. My brother is extra special as he'll get a Beano annual with his.

What you lot giving this year?

Bet i don't get many this year. Kids don't like our house much. I make the random kids sing the carol all the way through and make them sing another one all the way through before they get 50p from me.
( something i learnt when i was a kid. Some smart assed arsehole adult made me sing for my money)

I always enjoy the firebrigades whipround. They get more than a 50p donation from me.

When on the side of packet it says 3-5 years, 5-10 years 10 years +. Does that mean the amount of years it takes to complete it?

I've only possesed one jigsaw and i have to build a clock from it. I got it when i was 6. Still not completed it.

Hymas trying to be funny. Good idea though putting everything into one goodie bag. Or in this case 1 thread.

Hoho bloody ho!

See folks thats why Hyma gets to push buttons and the rest of us don't. If this was TVF ther'd be a riot by now.

It's better to have one stream of crazy instead of spreading it all over though Lorns!

I think Hyma's just trying to keep the place reasonably tidy, Lorna.

Learn from me. Even after three or four bottles of the Rhone-du-Cotes Vollages, just add to the threads from the thick people, taking the piss where necessary; don't create hundreds of new ones.

This is the most bizarre thread ever. It's like Hyma's been on the peyote and Lorna has become a character in his wacked-out trip to Freakland. Hello Hyma, this is the eggman speaking. You can fly, maaaaaaan.

I think Hyma has shown you in a very bad light Lorna. You look drunk and confused.

Good work Pete.

For failing to pay the bill? You know, BT don't cut people off instantly. It takes about a month from the date of the first bill being sent to them actually barring outgoing calls until the outstanding balance is settled.
I have since paid the bill, when the reminder came in. The cheque bounced...i called them forwarded on another cheque.
Why are you pissing about with cheques? Why don't you pay with direct debit like most other people? Or pay over the phone when you spoke to them?

Although if your bank account is empty to begin with, being told that the payment hasn't been authorised could be embarrassing.
In the time its taken between the cheque bouncing me calling and sending on another cheque the assholes have cut me off.
By the time the cheque was written out, posted, spent a couple of days in various sorting offices, spent another day or so unopened at BT's payment centre, cashed, waited 3-5 working days to clear etc.etc. - the whole process can take up to 10 working days (2 weeks).

Not surprised they cut you off. I don't know many people who even use cheques these days. My bank doesn't even issue chequebooks any more unless you specifically ask for one.

Less and less companies accept cheques now. Since about mid-2005, 99% of shops don't take cheques - even with a guarantee card. I think the only places that accept cheques now are Cash Converters which will give you a bitta fag/booze money to see you through the weekend or something.

because i like cheques and i like using my local post office to pay bills. I like doing my banking there too. Any little i do helps to keep our rural Post Office open. Paid cash over the counter today, so BT are happy.

I still hate BT!
