Do you have a similar reaction to someone in the street who might have not have english as their first language? Do you view them as annoying and ignorant because they are unable to converse in exactly the same way as you?

I really would expect better from what is generally an enlightened constituency on this forum.

You don't see many chinese speaking people posting on TV Forum or Metropol. If they did there wouldn't be much of a discussion.

Barcode has proven that when he takes the time and utilises the spell check that his posts can be coherent. It get's a bit much on TV Forum when he's posting at a rate of every minute and you can't make out what he's getting at. I'm certain that isn't what Barcode wants either.

I'm sure there is a halfway house here of accommodating Barcode and ensuring that Nick remains an active participant of this community, but it requires a bit of effort.

Well barcode, I hardly court popularity. I fight my corner in any argument, especially with Herr Sput, because I like a good debate. That's one of the reasons I come on here.

It's just surprising to find people making sweeping and bigotted posts.

That's not the best of questions. If I went to France and everyone was being French then I have no right to complain and should try my hardest to learn enough French to get by. However when someone is resident in this country and they don't even speak English then that *IS* annoying because it prevents them from interacting with the majority of the community.

There is a feature in phpbb3 called Friends and Foes, I was hesitant to enable it as I felt it would prevent some of the "discussions" that occur here, but I'm now becoming more and more tempted due to my annoyance with barcode.

I, personally, do not find his spelling to be the annoying point. I simply find him tiresome, ignorant, and generally annoying and troll like. Even when he is able to spell I find his attitude so boring and his dismissal of those who do not adore him pompous.

If we're going to have this tosser on the board why don't we let James Martin back too? "Cunts all round" could be our new slogan.
