I believe someone once exhibited a massive white piece of paper, with a tiny black dot in the middle as a piece of art.
Apparently, the dot is supposed to represent lonliness in a sea of emptiness. And even so, if I do see a piece of good art, I'd prefer to look at it as something that looks good, not for underlying themes that mostly aren't even there and that the artist probably didn't even intend.
