Why the hell do they think they have the moral upper hand when it comes to how people should live their lives.
There is a priest round my neck of the woods who thinks IVF should only be made available to hetrosexual couples. I saw it on SE today.

I was tempted to email The beeb SE with my thoughts but i thought i'd bore you lot instead. Now personally i think if single women or lesbians would make good mothers and parents then they should be entitled to IVF treatment. I got pissed off a few years back when friends of mine went for IVF on the NHS only to be refused because her husband had children from a previous relationship, yet at the same time a married couple who seeked asylum here and already had 2 children together were granted IVF on the NHS.

Ignoring the rest of that, if the couple that sought asylum are legally settled and contributing to the NHS then they're entitled to everything we are. Rightly. Smirnoff or no Smirnoff.

Does IVF work with two men?

Hmmm. Brings a whole new twist to 'Pause for thought'.

Ere get this the parish vicar had a gift day today outside my shop. Loads of the villagers turned up to give him brown envelopes stuffed with hard cash. It goes towards the up keep of the church or something apparently.

I made him a cuppa and Father Paul said he'll put a good word in for me. I could be getting some wings afterall.

I'm thinking of starting one of these. The annual Lorna wants a Holiday gift day.

I'll let Father Paul know my decision in due course.

As an atheist......

*ducks as Nick Harvey throws 10 plagues at me*

....i find it immensely amusing that people, normal in every other part of their lives, can subscribe so willingly to cults they had brainwashed into them in their formative years and/or at a time when they were emotionally vulnerable.

Err... religion?

I learned some time ago not to mock those who cherish their religion, but I draw the line at having their moral objections and opinions pitched towards me.

By all means those who wish to be guided by some kind of spirtual leader are welcome to do so, but the Church has no business making recomendations to the scientific community.
