I never give Metropol a second thought unless I'm looking at it. Once I close the internet browser I honestly do not think about this place until the next time I log onto the internet.

If your life is that boring and void of anything worthwhile, then you should do something about it!

PS - I really don't like this new look with buttons in the wrong place. I accidentally just sent this to Onetrickpony as a private message instead of replying to this topic. Sort it out Pete!

Why is that? So your attackers don't have to drag your body too far to ditch it?

I've been a bit lazy recently and not trained for ages so i thought to break myself in gently and join the local self defence class. Apparently i'm a bit too advanced for that class.

Ah right, i stay close to the hedge so i can dive into them quickly if anything kicks off.

How much do the self defence classes costs?

The one 60min lesson cost me £5.50 but if i signed up till September and went every week it would cost me £4.50 a lesson.
That decision has been taken out of my hands though.

Oh i see, hope your not offended by this, but as a women who spends time out on the town - do you carry a rape alarm, and what are your thoughts on them?

No i don't carry a rape alarm. I'd never find it in my bag and i tend not to put myself in vulnerable situations. If i do ever feel uncomfortable i always make sure i am aware of everything around me i'm usually, armed, prepared and ready for the worst. * remember your opponent is only as strong as their weakest point* Rape alarms are a good idea and men and women should carry one. However i think it's time a new easy to find rape alarm was invented. Perhaps a mini keyring one or a mobile phone accessory one that could be activated with ease.

If i heard a rape alarm go off i would go and investigate. I seem to be tuned in to having a nosey if i hear a car alarm or house alarm go off in my neighbourhood. It has been said that if i wore glasses i'd have to have curtains on the lenses, so's i could peek through them.

In all seriousness though, there is no better form of defence than a bit of knowledge to disable your opponent to give yourself some time to escape and find safety.
Everyone should take some basic form of self defence lesson.

I've not long started doing Tai Chi, which might not look like it's made for self defence, but my instructor has demonstrated that it's still very much a martial art.

I do have a rape alarm given out as a freebie back when I was at Uni, but I've never taken it out with me for the same reasons as Miss Hellfire has said. However, I believe that you can now get small ones which strap onto your wrist and as such are much more user friendly.
What the fuck is a samoflange?
