Well, unlike a television, a laptop can be folded and slid under the sofa within 2 seconds.

Oh i just ignore the door bell when i don't want to see anybody.

I'm fed up with paying for crap. I pay the tv license, used to pay for sky and i HAVE to pay a prs for the priviledge of listening to the radio at work. One bonus of that is i can play cds at my leisure with out being prosecuted. Also these days i'm very good and pay for my downloads via i tunes.

Yeah, PRS are universally hated by business owners and media professionals alike.

Thanks to them and their partners in crime, MCPS, UK radio cannot be broadcast to other countries over the internet without a new and ridiculously expensive licence.

Not true. If you are, for example, somebody like, for example, Mr Gnarls Barkely, you would be extremely pleased with such rules.

Well, of course those who PROFIT from these silly cash-cow licences will welcome them. But these pop stars are already ridiculously wealthy.

Indeed. They get enough profit from CD, album and download sales, why do they need more?

I don't know, but I'm sure Wikipedia has the answer.

Now to me at work i only listen to the radio and as far as i can see the radio is a promotional platform for artists. Which is why i begrudge paying a PRS.
