I wish I could cry too.
It's been 5 years since I could manage it, and I have lost at least two very close friends, one in very tragic circumstances ('bread of heaven' at the funeral and everything!) in this period, I suffer from severe anxiety and mild depression and I think part of this is due to my inability to express any emotion.
But it just doesnt happen... I think I need a shrink.
Crying
I cry at various times. Sometimes I'm prompted by a sad song or a sad video I'm watching, something it's because of the inability to make a decision when my mum and/or dad keep asking me, and sometimes just at night before I go to sleep. But more often than not, I just sigh in defeat.

It's interesting to know that the chemical make-up of tears cried for emotional reasons varies from that when you've just got something irritating your eye.
When you're crying because you're sad or upset the tears contain a chemical which is also linked to stress in the brain. So crying can genuinely relieve stress and make you feel better, although chopping onions to make yourself cry won't work.
That said... this really is a fucking miserable thread. Cheer up everybody or I'll be round with a wet halibut to give you all a slap around the chops.

I do sometimes feel like having a good old cry but normally when I'm stressed, buying something (like a new DVD or CD) usually cheers me up and I feel happy again.
There are two songs that always make me get a bit teary eyed for no reason other than they are quite sad songs: Queen - Who want's to live forever (as it's generally a sad song) & Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings after about 10 seconds, even the William Orbit version (which isn't a dance track just a more synthed version) make's me a bit teary eyed.

Hmm. This all seems very strange. If I'm upset about something, or sad, I don't find that crying helps much. If anything, it makes me worse. to me, crying is a sign of giving up. Of defeat. And it hardly solves my problems. I'd still have whatever anxiety lingering in my mind. Maybe it's because I'm manic depressive, I don't know, but it definately doesn't make me better.
Ronnie is victorious, vivacious in victory like a venomous dog. Vile Republicans cease living while the religious retort with rueful rhetoric. These rank thugs resort to violence and swear revenge.
But Ronnie can punch through steel so they lose anyway.
