Uploading widescreen videos to YouTube

I've tried uploading one but it's become 4:3. Do I have to alter the code or something to get it to appear as 16:9?

What format and screen res do you use? I've uploaded both WMV's and Quicktime MOV files in the past none of which have been stretched.

My current screen resolution is 1680 x 1050, and the file is an MPG file.

If it helps, the embed bit under the video description says:
