I'll start with an easy one. And because it's the one that inspired this thread.
It made me smile because we've all at some point suffered the indignity of hospital gowns.
In todays Sunday Mirror. Carole Malone writes about being petty by resenting the fact that muslim woman will be offered a Burkha style hospital gown.
I totally agree with her, why should muslim women be afforeded more dignity than the reat of us? Surely some money can be found for less degrading hospital gowns for the rest of us too, regardless of religion or sex.

Yes, actually I think burkhas would be pretty cool if only they weren't associated with a particular religion. With the amount of CCTV around nowadays, they offer a practical solution to the problem of maintaining anonymity while buying margarine and other household items. The only problem is that you kind of need lots of people to be wearing them, otherwise you just stand out, thus defeating the object.
