I suspect you'll be at the front of the line to blow up the icebergs in the bay, Nick. Do you still have that old "lightning finger" trick from the Roman times?

It sounds like you might think of Belgium the way I think of Switzerland and the Swiss.

The boring thing might be a bit of an issue. Plus, and it's a very important plus for me, I would like to live somewhere that tolerated public drunkenness. Do you understand how I feel on that, or does it make me sound like some sort of chav?
No worries on that front mate, they're a nation of pissheads. Drinking heavily is a major part of their culture. It was Belgium that invented Stella Artois, don't forget. They just seem to be slightly better behaved than us Brits when they're out of their heads.

I must say I'm not keen on all this hot places malarkey - Antarctica looks nice this time of year, sun'll be rising any week now!

But, as with your later post, no problems with overheating.

'Er indoors' family are all Newfies, so we'd be welcome.

I've known three British people who have lived in Italy full-time in my days and they all loved it.

That said, I am not sure why they came back. I didn't know them that well.

Very interesting - thanks for the info, matie.

When I get drunk, I get quite affectionate (not in a sexually harrassing way though) and very talkative. I never go looking for trouble.

Belgium may deserve more investigation. :D

Your criterion of

would rule it out.

However, Luxembourg would best meet that requirement.

Six months, all bar about a week.

It was nice while it lasted.

By the way, I think it's "johnnyboy" with no capitals and no spaces.

Or are you intending to float parts of a felled tree down a manmade waterway?
