i don't know what speed internet link some of these people on myspace have, but some profiles have like 20mb of images and junk on the first page.
the thing about faceparty is that although it wasn't as customiseable, at least the profiles are readable - many on myspaces look shit.
the only thing it's good for is as has been mentioned keeping in touch with people in uni etc.

It doesn't help when the MySpace profiles are coded so badly in the first place. Using tables for layout instead of css and not even giving tables/cells ID or CLASS tags to make it easier for users to customise properly (not to mention them not liking people using '#' and a few other tags). Looking at some profiles they have been customised with IE in mind and doesn't is even more unreadable using Firefox.Dr Lobster* wrote:the thing about faceparty is that although it wasn't as customiseable, at least the profiles are readable - many on myspaces look shit.

Do you have much experience with CSS Positioning then?
I have been able to do good things with tables, but I just cannot work with CSS Positioning. If only there was a graphical tool for working with them, like Desktop publishing software, it works on the same principles of frames and boxes, why do we not have a CSS/HTML equivilant of QuarkXpress or InDesign?

What's wrong with just using the basic layout when you sign up. It works for me. I just know if i try customising myspaz i'll f**k my page up. It says what i want it to say, plays what i want it to play and shows the pics i want. Nothing fancy for me.
