And also why when I press shift and 2 it get @ and when I press shift ' I get "?
I think that it is something to do with the keyboard settings but I cant seem to find anywhere.

In connection with my cr*p spelling I would like to anotate all my posts with (sp?)
You're keyboard is set to American style. To change it back you need to go Start > Control Panel, (ensure you're in icon view), double click Keyboard, Regional and Language Options, from the Languages tab click Details, and choose England (united Kingdom) (you might also want to delete the United States one as you'd have no use for it in your list of installed input service), then hit OK OK.

To simplify things for the end-user. It really is a cumbersome way of doing anything in Windows. It was the first thing I changed when I moved to XP (along with turning off the default skin and turning the Start Menu to Classic).cdd wrote:Category view is utter crap. God knows why it's the default.
Windows ME first added this category view option, so it was naturally carried over to Windows XP. There is an option called "Other Control Panel Options" available under XP when you install Java, Bluetooth, Java, etc, but once you go in there, there's no way back out of it if you hide the buttons on the toolbar (which IIRC is the case when you install XP by default).

Actually I've moved over to the new start menu, simply to get rid of desktop clutter.
