Having seen some news footage, not the actual game, I was too busy watching England lose to Sri Lanka for the fifth time in a five match season, this Rooney bloke ought to be banned from the game for ten or twenty years.
Not content with being sent off for stamping on some poor bloke's legs, he then tries to push some other bloke over whilst the referree is talking to him.
I assume what few brain cells he has got are in his bloody metatarsil.
Thank goodness we're out now. Once our towns, cities and villages recover from the trashing they're going to get tonight from the drunken ignorants, we can all get back to the more serious issues.
Out again.

I knew this thread would be here when I logged on tonight. And I knew who would have started it.
It's the same every Eurovision as well, just wouldn't be the same without James Martin expressing his outrage on behalf of the nation.
Does this mean an instant removal of flags from cars / bedrooms and from the classier establishments, living room windows ?

Shouldn't think so for a moment.Square Eyes wrote:Does this mean an instant removal of flags from cars?
Since when has Mr Punter had the intelligence to understand that he'll improve his petrol consumption by five miles a gallon when he removes the drag of his flag?

Nick, it's definately me. The one and only Simon L.
I never thought I would join Metropol under any circumstances, but was forced to sign up following Jamez' allegations in another thread. I promise you it really is me; check the profile.
My last response was actually what my dad would say, he's more right-wing about crime than I am!

Speaking as someone who loves different European cultures (but very much an anti-EU person), there is a lot to be said for the cafe culture on the continent.tvarksouthwest wrote:Nick, it's definately me. The one and only Simon L.

That said, I do love the British/Irish/and a few other way of binge drinking on a Friday or a Saturday night. All this whipped-up press hysteria about binge drinking is bogus - it has been part of our culture now for God knows how long.
