It's not linear, you can't expect that if he'd been in it that things would have gone any better. By the way, you're sounding much like James Martin the mental again.

I wouldn't want to be Ronaldo when he goes back to United.

Putting aside the complete and utter insanity of Wayne Rooney and the absolutely unbelieveable mystery of what the hell management have been up to for the past few weeks:

I have always said that Christiano Ronaldo is an egotistical, smarmy "idiot", even before he signed at Manchester United. And tonight has just wrapped up all those quality traits of his and justified the near-hate I have had for him for as long as I can remember.

Knocked heads with Roo just before kick off, then had this fucking smug look on his face as if to say "I got him sent off" after Rooney pushed him after a supposed foul as if to say get out of it (Carvallho was the alleged victim). Then scored the penalty that put Eng out.

Personally, I'm wondering why there wasn't some sort of penalty for the Portuguese after that incident - you can't say his "foul" wasn't provoked!

Being a teammate of Wayne Rooney, he knows exactly how short a fuse his short fuse is - so spent much of the game winding up as much as possible, ultimately resulting in his sending off. To top it off, he scored the winning penalty.

Perhaps you can't blame him for either, but you just have to know what a smarmy show-off the guy is to realise how irritating it is. Anybody else and I would have taken the knock out a bit easier.

And to put the icing on the cake, he'll return to English football in the season and make his millions here.
