Well i've done it. I've removed my profile from gaydar after 3 pointless years of having one. Why? Because (for Southampton at least) it is mostly full of ugly old men. Why I should share pictures of my beautiful buff torso to the great unwashed on there, or rather why I thought it would be a good idea to do so for 3 years, escapes me.
Now then, question...How many people use Gaydar? and what alternatives are there for a miserable gay like me?
Snu Quits Gaydar
Gaydar's crap anyway.
I've got a feeling LadsLads.com is going to take over Gaydar eventually. It's not long launched but has grown really fast, mainly due to the fact you don't have to pay.
There's no limits on it, and you can put unlimited photos and videos on your profile. Apparently the new version (due for release at the end of the month) will be a 'gay myspace' and have customised profiles, blogs, video and music access.
Gaydar's got so big it doesn't seem to try anymore.

I suppose it depends what you are looking for.
Gaydar is a most efficient tool for men seeking other men for casual liaisons. As such, any insight into a musical tastes, circles of friends, favourite tv programmes etc are largely redundant.
There are people who (annoyingly) hack the code of their gaydar profiles so that all kinds of loud and intrusive tunes play on opening them. As a rule though, the basic profile and messaging service does the job it was designed for.
Myspace, as far as I can tell, is a virtual meeting ground for more friendly activities. Its all about getting to know people. I think any 'meet-for-sex' scenarios are more of a fortunate spin-off for the members.
I have considered deleting my gaydar profile as I have a concern that I am becoming accustomed to the direct and rather base approach to meeting men. I find myself oddly annoyed at anyone who tries to get to know me personally, and this can't be a good thing.
I'm not sure I have the courage to delete it, but I'm leaning in that direction.

I use http://www.outeverywhere.com quite a lot (my user id there is neilg) - it's a friendly community, based around friendship and member-organised social events rather than primarily sex (not that that doesn't happen too...)
There are fast-moving forums, detailed profiles with quite a bit of photo storage space.
You could always try the free 28-day trial and see whether you think it's worth paying for after that (if you do sign up, please use this link http://www.outeverywhere.com/?r=101111 - gets me brownie points
