EDF Energy

Rebrands seem to generate interest on this forum, so I thought I'd give this a go...

Today I received a letter from SWEB, my gas supplier (not sure why - I live in the south east), advising that the business is being rebranded 'EDF Energy' from June. I assume Seeboard and London Energy will go the same way.

This is hardly surprising given the prominent EDF logos for the last couple of years on bills, leaflets, etc., and the parent's sponsorshop of 2012 London Olympics.

The letter's FAQ forgot to mention what French-owned electricty company EDF stands for. I wonder why?

It wont be long until you see the E.ON brand a lot more. It's a German power company which is hell-bent on buying up just about every power company in the world!

It's already bought Powergen, and that will be rebranded E.ON (http://www.eon.com) within the next few months, with it's crap logo, crap name and run by insane, rich Germans.

Make the most of the Powergen brand. I thought the Powergen brand was very strong and rather respected. I've always liked their logo, which was designed in 1988.

I either adore powergen or loathe them, depending on whether they send us an electricity bill for the past two years when we move out of this place next month.

I don't care what they have renamed themselves - they are still the cheapest supplier in the UK (for us) - saved us nearly £35 per month (nearly £420 a year - for those that cant do simple arithmetic)

Yes, I got one of these letters this morning saying that the Seeboard logo was biting the dust.

And what's with all this "CarbonNeutral (r) publication" stuff at the bottom? :?
