I do a favour for an old school teacher of mine who puts together award ceremonies for the lower (secondary) school where he teaches. They hire in screens and the whole event is quite audio/visual dependant. For the past few years I've put together the presentation/video for it. I'm trying to improve on previous years with a few new ideas which I'd like to pick your brains about....
Inspirational/motivational music
Can anyone think of inspirational/motivational music (preferably modern) which would be good for this type of event?
Library music/sounds (Legal)
Also if anyone has any decent library music/sounds sites that could provide sort of ‘swoosh’ sound effects. For example when someone’s name animates on screen. I’m looking for some fancy sounds that could trigger along with the animation effects. (I do have a budget for the odd track – I’m not looking for it on the free!)
Graphics program
A bad mistake many years ago was to continue using Microsoft Photodraw when it was no longer supported. I now have the problem of being so heavily reliant on it because it’s the only graphics program I know my way around. For this presentation I will be using a new Intel MacBook Pro, which obviously doesn’t support this obsolete software since even Windows doesn’t any more. Ideally, I’m looking for a decent vector graphics program that I could get to grips with within the next week in order to produce graphics to be included in the presentation. I’ve tried using Photoshop but it seems rather complex to pick up within the short space of time I have. Any suggestions?
If you could help with any of the above it would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Martin

you might want to have a look at macromedia flash (or whatever it's called now), opus pro, and if you're really stuck for time and you don't have the resources to learn something like flash, then you might want to give powerpoint a go. the office 2003 version is pretty good - even where i work i've seen some pretty impressive presentations and this is coming from people who used to use nearly ever possible transition on a single slide.

Try these production libraries: -
http://www.bmgzomba.co.uk
http://www.playkpm.com
They have some sound effects, although they aren't always great. Have a browse and see what you can find.

Thanks both of you
Perhaps I wasn't very clear but I do intend to use powerpoint as the basis for the presentation, its just the graphics/logos/backgrounds within the presentation that I would prefer to do in a vector based graphics program then import them as images into the slides.
