I am sorry if I did offend anyone, I believe Morrisons is using the stereotypes which exist for people up north, be it right or wrong, I am saying the stereotypes are blatently false, and it doesn't work, which is why I believe Morrisons should rebrand!

So does every other supermarket I know!!

It does not make it 'Northern influeced', however, I do know the point you are trying to make.

Well, other supermarkets, don't have people, almost in costume, with a cardboard sign above trying to make out these are little stalls or shops with people 'selling their wairs'

Tesco fishmongers / butchers / deli workers / bakers all have to wear 'silly' costumes - it's called hygene. Hats to keep hair in check, aprons to protect their under-clothes from getting dirty etc. etc.

I dont mean the white clothing, I know thats hygene, but they have silly hats with butcher or fishmonger on it, and silly signs above the counters.

Phoenix Nights is not a comedy. It's a very accurate documentary of what life is actually like 'oop north'. Hence why I've never been terribly keen to stop and visit.

Driving up to Scotland last month and looking at the 'oop northernness' of the scruffy, cold and foggy little towns didn't make me want to turn off the motorway and have a look.

Oop north, where Morrisons and grotty working mens clubs go hand-in-hand.
