You're awake at five-to-one in the morning to post that?

My, aren't you something of the unhappy variety.

and the comment:
I really can't believe the level of pure vindictive evil that is purported from some of you, sometimes.

Of course take the piss when someone does something daft or silly, but taking the piss and ridiculing a young chap with downs trying to do some good on hospital radio, is, I think unforgivable.
really takes the biscuit - it's the hypocrisy which amazes me.

Umm...

I hardly think that closing a thread which is taking the piss out of people who are trying to do something constructive with their lives and who unfortunately have down syndrome, is a bad thing.

By all means take the piss out of someone like James Martin because he invariably asks for it, but to take the piss out of someone who suffers from a severe disability, whos trying to make something of themselves and someone who isn't even a member of this forum to defend themselves is, in my book, not on.

Some of you seem to assume that I'm doing this merely to flex my moderators muscle, which isn't true. If I wasn't a mod, I would have PM'd Gavin to close the topic for the reasons stated in my last post of the 'Jamez iz back' thread.

I'm not going to close this topic, even though it was started by someone who I suspect is from the same clan as Dusty Jacket/Sideshow Ed etc.

As for me being hypocritical, please show me where I have taken the piss out of someone for having a disability in the past!

*sigh*

I'll re-open the topic, against my better judgement and I hope it will put itself quietly to sleep.

I don't want to be known as a trigger-happy mod with no sense of fun - but to avoid repeating myself, taking the piss out of disability and calling them "mental" is just too close to the bone for me personally.

Since Jamez became mod he has been so much more serious -- his controversiality was what I liked most about him and I hope he doesn`t allow it to slip away entirely as happened with many other moderators!

I wouldn't say Gavin isn't controversial, neither would I deem JB is that boring. Even little Jimmy Ison has his moments over here and at that *other place*.

The biggest problems i have re moderation have to be on TVF.

What part of the word "many" did you fail to understand? Let me help you: "Many" refers to a majority, thus by definition excluding a minority from the statement.

And what excuse do YOU have for being up at this time! At least I have the alibi of being located in a different timezone.
