A question about Freeview set top boxes.
From my experience with Sky Digital, there are only two options for the picture aspect, 4:3 and 16:9.
Is this is the same with Freeview boxes or can you set them up to show a 14:9 picture?
Freeview STB
Some do 14:9. My Goodmans GBD 4 does 4:3 Letterbox, 4:3 Normal, 14:9 and 16:9.Andrew wrote:A question about Freeview set top boxes.

Much as I am loathe to post this link:

People have reviewed various set top boxes, though some are up to the standard of usual Digital Spy forum members so...
I have an Hauppauge 1100 Freeview box myself, which can do 14:9 though I wouldn't rate it as the best box ever, though it works well on my indoor aerial - the same one my brother's box and sister's Xmas pressie box decided not to pick up any of the music channels on.
Usually comes down to what you're prepared to pay at the end of the day; Alba and Bush are cheap and cheerful, Goodmans and Fergusons have at least one crap box in their series, Hauppauge and Nokia are suck it and see and Sony seems to be good at the moment (though not immortal).
