i think it all looks quite promosing, actually.

They are trying to turn MSN into the 'content' brand of Microsoft, e.g. MSNBC, MSN.com website etc. and bringing in a new system where all of the different 'contact' applications will work perfectly together

Microsoft seem to be branding all their online services as 'Live'

Windows Live Messenger
Windows OneCare Live
Xbox Live
Live.com
Longhorn Live (beta)

I think its a good idea, but then somepeople are just anti-micro$ft for the sake of being cool or something stupid like that.

Strange to change it now. I was under the impression they were renaming to Microsoft Messenger (a la recent Mac release).

Well I've been using it for a while and I think it's BIZZARE. clunky, strange and chunky. Dunno if I like it or not. Back to 7.5 for the moment (I can't be fussed running a proxy emulator for the protocol to get it working).

I suppose it's a pre-BETA release available on a popular MSN Messenger fansite. ;)

I didn't install it myself - mostly due to the fact that Messenger Plus! won't work.

'MSN' won't be in the name at all so more like XtraLiveMessenger or something.
