This may sound sound like a dumb question to you media luvvies. So forgive this mere radio listener for one moment please.

Is a radio presenter the same thing as a D.J?

Anyway there are a few people who certainly do not have the voice for radio but definately have the face for it. Step forward Sara Cox.

Sara Cox is fantastic, probably the only reason other than Edith or Vernon to listen to Radio 1.

And yes, James. You are minging.

Not only RP, but my presenting days are over! I haven't presented a show for over a year!

I'm in the process of starting a mature bbw porn site with JM.

Indeed.

From what I understand, a "radio presenter" DJ is usually one that presents a show, does much talking and plays songs without doing much mixing. Of course, he still has to be able to keep the whole show together and make it sound consistent through the use of presentation material such as beds, jingles, sweepers etc. But on commercial radio they seldom have much control - most of it is all done by computer.

A DJ (as in club DJ; Pete Tong and the like) does more mixing of songs into a set and less talking from sources such as CDs and vinyl. I doubt if you'd get the same sort of automation system, say at Tinpot GWR FM here.
