The latest rumour mongering over there as to whether someone has popped their clogs has brought this thought to the front of my busy brain once again.

When I decided a while back not to peruse tvf any more (I recognise my failure tonight too), the primary reason was because of the very very weird nature of the discussions in time of great amounts of grief - such as tsunami, terror attacks and whathaveyou. It's a little odd when people are dying to find c@t and others telling us all how sky news is doing so much better at getting people in the way of recovery efforts* - and how a strap is being used to tell us of the human cost.

So what do others think? Is TVF a touch perverse, or does this kind of discussion just come with the territory for something reserved for discussion of presentation?

* I realise that's quite an incendiary remark

Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with big events not getting discussed or that people posting there are in any way bastards. It's just something that plays on my mind on the odd occasion.

either way I'm finding this entire thread hillarious. The lesser members are doing wonders at posting useless info to try and make themselves appear at the forefront of this rumour mongoring.

Maybe we should start the protest tonight by discussing the event (if it happens) on here instead of TVF.

I'm of the opinion that the protest is a bit harsh really. I mean asa doesn't have to run and pay for the whole thing but he does, and he's had to work pretty damn hard to keep it going as it's gone from strength to strength - and now you're all sort of talking of abandoning him!

Not him per se, rather the busload of moronic kids that has arrived recently.

We were all moronic kids at some stage - what exactly can the poor fella do aside from bar all new entries?

I think some kind of vetting is required.

Take the example of new member, Sideshow Ed. Correct spelling, correctly formed post, correct punctuation and a fresh question on a topic that doesn't come up very often.

I tried to give him a sensible reply, but, sadly, nobody else assisted. That was probably because of the "Sod the thread from the new boy" syndrome, caused by the huge number of new people who ARE idiots.

If Ed can do it, why not others? And why can't the wheat be separated from the chaff and the idiots quickly banned?

Well, having seen the RTP list and general whinges coming from members like g.dyke and others, I know asa can't have a hell of a lot of time to vet anybody at all!

Perhaps a digital spy esque delay between signing up and posting, and indeed creating new threads could be a solution?

How did you get access to the RTP list?

More to the point, why the fook would somebody like g.dyke be complaining?

I think we should be told - lest I get very very angry about the whole situation.

I'm assuming g.dyke really, after his tedious nature in that rumour-filled thread last night. In the end, the majority of the RTPs seemed to be "why is this person discussing radio? it's a TV forum! Why aren't you doing anything about it? WHY?

And my cryptic answer is that I went two thirds of the way to the end of the earth to get access matey!

Ok, I admit it. it was me that hacked it that time. Only because I slept with ison and got crabs though ;)

UKTV Games is back spamming and Charlie Wells just lets the thread continue once again.

It absolutely sends me into a rage. I know it shouldn't, but as I live alone and have many hard days at work I find it easy to vent on the troglodytes of TV Forum.

Charlie, I'm sorry because I know you are reading this. That's the thing - you probably ready EVERYTHING and yet miss the point to step in.

I'm sure you're an otherwise bright lad, and you are probably a wee sweetheart too - but you have to help me out here. My irrational anger can only be stemmed if I see UKTV Games put to pasture.

Give me an address, and I'll look into the matter.

Or, just lock and shift the threads so they don't sit there goading me.
