Not when the delete button isn't there...

That's because you tried to delete it when time warp posted 20 minutes later.

It isn't NOW, you thick idiot.

But it WAS for twenty-one minutes after the post, and at the time you were stupidly doing the edit.

The person who makes a post can always delete it whilst it is still the last post in a thread.

Quite annoying that. There should be some kind of 10 minute time limit for the delete button after someone's posted. Never seen a forum capable of that though.

DS do that with their edit button, and you can't delete a post once you've posted it - only edit it. So I assume it is technically possible to delete depending on the forum software used.

The moderators can delete any post at any time, but members can only do so until someone else replies.

This stops certain users from erasing themselves from discussions after the fact, and making the threads impossibly difficult for others to follow. The ability to edit of course remains, although TV Forum shows the amount of edits and when the last one was made.

One only has to read posts from users like Luxton to see how often they re-think what they have said - often in an attempt to backtrack. *Top tip* Always QUOTE what Simon says, before he has a chance to change it. Just for the record, you understand.

I'm glad that Martin doesn't have the "Edited by..." message on Metropol, as its not really needed for the membership here; and allows for the typos to be neatly corrected.

I might have popped along and hoovered up that duplicate post - but the minute other members comment on it then I'm somewhat stymied.

That "Edited by" tag on TV Forum is most annoying.

It didn't used to be there, so what purpose does it serve?
