I don't believe in God, but I believe in guardian angels and that we are being watched over.

Far too many things have happend recently which have led me to believe that there MUST be someone/something watching over me and helping me out. I've never thought of myself as psychic, but I have been able to predict events, or know that they're going to happen sometimes months before they do happen!

I've had 2 very serious car accidents in the last four years, and both times I've escaped with no injuries. The first accident back in 2001, the policeman said as he approached my car he thought "my god, that person must be dead", but I was sitting on the side of the road chatting to the farmer whos hedge I'd just demolished.

I remember as my car was flipping through the air, I heard a voice SCREAMING "not yet!!!". I was alone in the car, but that voice was so vivid! I really don't have a clue where it came from or what it meant. It's just very weird.

There is something out-there that we don't know about, but as I said before the notion that there's a heavenly place in the clouds somewhere run by a man with a big white beard and surrounded by the billions and billions of people that have ever existed is, quite frankly, incomprehensible crap IMO.

There is something, though. What exactly, I don't know. Maybe some form of our consciousness does live on after our bodies die, but what happens to other living creatures like ants and bacteria - does bacteria have a conscience?

is there a god?

of course there isn't.

the whole thing of heaven, hell, believers, non-believers and freewill is an over complex explanation.

for instance, hypocritical jehovah's witnesses tell you that the fossil record was put there by the devil since they believe the earth is only a few million years old. you what?!? this devil, who is normally busy burning humans you have sex before they get married also has the time to put outlines of unknown creatures and plants on rocks 'for a laugh' to test the weak? it is too complicated and its obviously an invention of the human mind.

religion is all about control - not so much today, but all religions repress all aspects of human behavour.

for instance, before islam the arab world was a global centre of geometry, maths, and architecture but now, in the last 1500 years or so since the birth of islam, what can we say are the products of the arab world today? apart from suicide bombers, nothing.

and on the subject of the after life, just like you don't remember anything before you were born, you won't remember anything after you die. the end.

Quite sobering.

Makes you think what's the point? There must be a point to all this, but there isn't - there just isn't.

But I'd love to know what happens when you die... say I stuck a knife in me would it just go in and then there be darkness?

We don't know.

I volunteer to stick the knife in you.

For the experiment.

and i think that's why a lot of humans need something bigger to believe in.

it's hard for some people to accept that there isn't any real reason for our life or existance.

take a look at reptiles, they are almost robotic, they have no language, they have primitive methods of communication using chemicals - what is the point of them?

there is no point really - it just seems that wherever life is possible it seems to happen and adapt to its surrondings in an infinate number of ways.

There would be a lot of mess for your mother to clean up.

Stop being so selfish.

A morbid facination of death is, frankly, one of those modern things that I can't stand. The important bit is what you do when you are alive. The rest will take care of itself, I assure you.

I don't believe there's a god. If there is a god he is going to get some strong words from me when i get there.

I like to believe in the afterworld because like Jamez, some really really weird things have happened that i've forseen and i like to think i'll see the ones i've loved again e.g. I knew my ex-boyfriend would have an accident in his car. After his accident everything he told me about it i saw in one of those not quite asleep states of mind. I'm not a weird, witchy psychic or anything i just believe there is more to our sub-conscious than science can explain.

I'm not afraid of dying or death. It's those that are left behind that suffer the pain and heartache. What really hurts is when someone dies suddenly and you don't get the chance to say your goodbyes. I really miss my dad and wish i'd had a chance to say those last words to him and have one last hug. Like i say, if there is a god he's gonna dread meeting me

That's enough now, * reaches for the kleenex*

I reckon he does exist. I'm not religious or anything but I just have a feeling.
