I've had this new fancy gadget called a "WIDIO". Looks very posh - but the power connector that came with it ahs two flat pins. Does anyone know of a convertor to use?
The plug says
Input - 11-240vac - 50-60hz/0.5A MAX
Output - +5vdc ------ 1,5A
Will i need any special voltage convertors?
This electrical numbers thing is really confusing!

The Input allows for 11v to 240v ac. The UK supply is (nominally) 240v ac at 50hz.
There will be a transformer inside the equipment which steps the voltage down to 5vdc. You don't need to worry about that bit as it will do it for you.
Either buy a travel plug:

Or better yet, chop the plug top off and wire your own 3amp fused UK plug.
Do take care when wiring electrical plugs.
Thank you Gavin for that safety tip.
You need to wire you plug like this:

Remember: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES FIX THE TOP COVER ONTO THE PLUG. THIS COULD CAUSE OVERHEATING AND POSSIBLY FIRE.
LEAVE ALL TERMINALS EXPOSED FOR COOLING.

I rather expected you would say, "I'm a doctor not an electrician". Or am I thinking of the wrong, "Bones"?
In any event, I don't want a law suit on my hands.
Remember kids,
BLUE goes on Bottom Left
BROWN goes on Bottom Right
And while I'm at it, Left is for Loose, Right is for Tight.

Now, can you tell me how to get a small rust stain out of a t-shirt?

Oh I don't know anything about that.
I have a Filipino maid.

It doesn't seem like you Bones to offer correct advice about safety... aren't you too sadistic for that!Bones wrote:Thank you Gavin for that safety tip.

Actually Britain's internally fused plugtops are far superior to continental versions.Jamez wrote:I hate wiring plugs!
How come that Britain is the only country that uses these stupid plugs? Every other country uses the 2-prong ones which are much better IMO.
The only stupid bit was when they sold appliances without a fitted plugtop for years and years.
That's illegal now - thanks to BBC's Watchdog, I understand.

Don't be. She has a hideous moustache. I keep complaining but she just cries and cries and talks about her "sick baby".babyben wrote:Damn I'm jealous.Gavin Scott wrote:Oh I don't know anything about that.
